STORYLINES

paint, cotton, brass, rope

2017

created during Artist in Schools Residency, Cove Park, Scotland

A work produced through a series of workshops with the performer Naomi O'Kelly and students at Parklands School, a special educational needs school in Helensborough.

We told tales about the landscape, performed out these stories, and visualised and mapped them out using sensory materials. These materials left traces, each student manouvering them in response to the stories through melting, pressing, squeezing and trailing actions.
These marks were then embroidered over, to give the partially sited students a way of feeling the images, and the work was installed in the school.
